Trip budgeting
Expedition and trek cost planner
Build a transparent trip budget from your own figures. The calculator does not claim live prices and does not invent a universal cost for a mountain.
Why the planner uses your figures
Expedition prices vary by departure city, nationality, route, service level, exchange rate, permit year, equipment already owned and the size of the climbing team. A single advertised package price rarely describes the full trip cost. This planner keeps those components visible so you can replace each assumption with a current quote.
Costs that travellers often overlook
Pre-trip accommodation, airport transfers, domestic baggage, equipment rental, satellite communications, porter or mule charges, tips, insurance exclusions and contingency days can materially change a budget. Add them when they apply instead of relying on a base package price.
What this tool does not do
The calculator does not fetch live permit prices, airfare or currency rates. When Giant Mountains publishes a reference cost elsewhere, it should include the source and verification date rather than pretending to be live.
